Over the past two years, Joe Biden and other career politicians have destroyed our economy. Our food shelves look like scenes out of the Great Depression, distribution networks are backed up due to mismanagement, and rising fuel costs combined with reckless spending have created record inflation. Our nation cannot even make the basic necessities at home anymore due to decades-long policies of shipping jobs and manufacturing overseas. The only answer to these problems is to get rid of those who created this mess.
When I get to Washington, I will work to curb wasteful government spending and bring inflation under control. I will fight to make sure incentives go toward bring jobs back to America rather than send them overseas. I believe in "Make it Here - Buy It Here". That will rejuvenate the American economy, bring prices under control.
America's tax system is broken. Years of reckless spending, special interest giveaways, and throwing cash at failed program after failed program have created an unbearable tax burden on businesses and working families. It seems now more than ever, Establishment politicians want to throw money at problems like illegal immigration and failing education with no interest in fixing the root of the problem.
My plan is simple. Focus on real solutions to problems, quit wasting our hard-earned tax dollars, and relieve the massive tax burden sitting on American families.
Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and other career politicians have created a disaster at our border. I will focus on securing our border, fixing Biden's humanitarian crises, and going to work on building an immigration system that is fair to all and benefits our country. That means supporting our agents at the border and enforcing our laws on the books. I will not tolerate any lack of support for our men and women doing excellent work to secure our border.
I have always been a supporter of law enforcement officers and I will continue that support in Washington. I will stand up to "De-fund the Police" movement and ensure that our law enforcement officers have the tools and resources they need to keep all communities safe in New Jersey and across the country.
Public education has always been up to the locally elected school boards. Now it seems that school board members work for the teacher's unions and not the parents. Teachers are very important to the development of our children. However, it is up to parents, not the government or teacher's unions, to decide what their children are taught beyond a normal curriculum. I will stand up to the teacher's unions and ensure that every parent has the ability and the right to determine how their child is raised.
One of the saddest realities in America is the state of substance abuse and drug addiction. In a country that has put men on the moon, developed the most innovative technology imaginable, and created the largest economy in history, we have sadly failed when it comes to drug addiction. There is no easy way to fix this problem. In fact, any successful plan will require tackling the issue from both a law enforcement perspective and a mental health standpoint.
It is clear the first thing that must happen is to stop the flow of illegal drugs coming into our country. Overdose deaths have increased 28% since Joe Biden has come into office. Fentanyl and other illegal drugs crossing our borders are causing death rates to climb higher and higher. I will focus on supporting law enforcement at the border to cut off illegal drugs as well as supporting treatment options across the country to help beat back addiction.
The cost of higher education is too expensive. Forgiving student loan debt would only increase taxes for American citizens, many of whom do not have a college degree. It will also cause universities to only increase their prices, making education even more difficult to afford.
I want to structure student loans with incentives to attend community college for 2 years before students move on to attend a major college or university. That will not only save them money on the total cost of their education but help reduce the amount of overall debt young students take on. This country was founded on the idea to make your own choices. If you choose to take a loan to pay for education it means you must pay it back. We can still have an education system that is fair and affordable without encouraging taking out huge loans with sky-high interest rates.
